Registration and login are required to submit items online and to check the status of current submissions.

Author Guidelines

• Manuscripts submitted to the journal should be original contributions and should not be under consideration for any other publications.
• The journal accepts research-based articles, book reviews, and special issues concerning gender studies.
• The manuscripts should be together with abstract (200-250 words) and a list of at least three keywords describing the main points of the manuscript.  Please submit complete manuscripts to the following link:
• The manuscript should identify the title of the article; the name of the author(s), institutional address, and email of its author(s).
• The journal accepts manuscripts written in Bahasa Indonesia, Arabic, and English. Manuscripts are written in Bahasa Indonesia and Arabic must also include Title, Abstract, Keywords, and Reference in English.
• Please use Times New Roman 12 pt and all submissions should be typed in single spacing. 2.5 cm margins in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
• The length of the article is at least 6000 words excluding abstract, references, table, and figures.
• Bibliographical references must be cited in the body of the article and comply with APA 6th style guidelines. It is highly recommended for the authors to use management reference like Zotero, Mendeley and etc

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

1. The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
2. The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
3. Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
4. The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
5. The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
6. If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.

Please find the rights and licenses in Kafa’ah: Journal of Gender Studies. By submitting the article/manuscript of the article, the author(s) agree with this policy. No specific document sign-off is required.

1. License

The non-commercial use of the article will be governed by the Creative Commons Attribution license as currently displayed on Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International License. 

2. Author(s)' Warranties

The author warrants that the article is original, written by the stated author(s), has not been published before, contains no unlawful statements, does not infringe the rights of others, is subject to copyright that is vested exclusively in the author, and free of any third party rights, and that any necessary written permissions to quote from other sources have been obtained by the author(s).

3. User/Public Rights

Kafa’ah: Journal of Gender Studies spirit is to disseminate articles published are as free as possible. Under the Creative Commons license, Kafa’ah: Journal of Gender Studies permits users to copy, distribute, display, and perform the work for non-commercial purposes only. Users will also need to attribute authors and Kafa’ah: Journal of Gender Studies to distributing works in the journal and other media of publications. Unless otherwise stated, the authors are public entities as soon as their articles got published. 

4. Rights of Authors

Authors retain all their rights to the published works, such as (but not limited to) the following rights;

• Copyright and other proprietary rights relating to the article, such as patent rights,
• The right to use the substance of the article in own future works, including lectures and books,
• The right to reproduce the article for its own purposes,
• The right to self-archive the article (please read our deposit policy),
• The right to enter into separate, additional contractual arrangements for the non-exclusive distribution of the article's published version (e.g., post it to an institutional repository or publish it in a book), with an acknowledgment of its initial publication in this journal (Kafa’ah: Journal of Gender Studies).

5. Co-Authorship

If the article was jointly prepared by more than one author, any authors submitting the manuscript warrants that he/she has been authorized by all co-authors to be agreed on this copyright and license notice (agreement) on their behalf, and agrees to inform his/her co-authors of the terms of this policy. Kafa’ah: Journal of Gender Studies will not be held liable for anything that may arise due to the author(s) internal dispute. Kafa’ah: Journal of Gender Studies will only communicate with the corresponding author.

6. Royalties

Being an open accessed journal and disseminating articles for free under the Creative Commons license term mentioned, author(s) aware that Kafa’ah: Journal of Gender Studies entitles the author(s) to no royalties or other fees. 

7. Miscellaneous

Kafa’ah: Journal of Gender Studies will publish the article (or have it published) in the journal if the article’s editorial process is successfully completed. Kafa’ah: Journal of Gender Studies editors may modify the article to a style of punctuation, spelling, capitalization, referencing, and usage that deems appropriate. The author acknowledges that the article may be published so that it will be publicly accessible and such access will be free of charge for the readers as mentioned in point 3.
